Emotions ran high at Beauty Bar Denver during Mondo Guerra’s silent auction and Project Runway episode 10 viewing party hosted by Fabric Lab.  The venue was packed to capacity with an energetic crowd of supporters who showed up to share what has turned out to be the most poignant moments in season 8 thus far.

“I’m free,” Mondo said during the episode.

Mondo’s touching reveal of his HIV positive status resonated throughout the room.  The audience was in tears after his heartfelt admission, creating a surge of love and encouragement around the Denver designer.  For ten years, Mondo withheld his HIV status from his family for fear of rejection and disappointment.

Mondo’s parents and family were in attendance Thursday evening, sustaining their support for a son who has captured the hearts and inspired the lives of a nationwide audience.  Having intimate family matters unfold on national television must be daunting.  Still, the Guerra family rallied bravely around Mondo, exemplifying the beauty of unconditional love.

Special guest host Michael Costello delighted the benefit’s guests with his uncanny impersonations of Michael Kors and Nina Garcia.  His energy and humor provided a comedic counterpoint to the sensitive nature of the evening. You can read the rest of this article on Remigio’s Page on examiner.com.
